Will of the People, the eighth studio album from the British rock band Muse, will be made available as a digital download via NFT. The band has decided to try out a new format, which is digital pressing. Because of its innovative digital format, it will be the first non-traditional album to be eligible for chart placement, marking a world-first achievement for the music industry.
The NFT album up for sale by Muse

The band decided to release the record in a strictly regulated run of only one thousand NFT copies. The auction is scheduled for Friday, the 26th of August, and will take place on the NFT platform known as Serenade.

The cost of the Muse NFTs ranges between $24 and $25. Those fortunate enough to buy the digital asset will receive high-resolution Flac files, which they will be able to download, as well as an alternate album cover that has been digitally signed by the members of Muse.

The drop is geared specifically toward fans who have an interest in acquiring band memorabilia. On the secondary market, the value of the music NFT is further increased by the fact that there are so few of them. It is important to note, however, that artists receive fifteen percent of the proceeds from secondary sales.

You should be aware that any subsequent sales of NFT records made on secondary markets will not be tallied towards the chart position of the band’s most recent release.

The Official Charts Company (OCC) in the United Kingdom will, for the first time since 2015, when album streaming were added to the count, permit a new format to be tallied towards a band’s chart position. The format in question is digital downloads. The NFTs were made eligible for chart position in April 2022 thanks to the implementation of a brand new digital pressing format by the corporation. The NFTs for Muse are the first to reach the conditions for entrance. The NFTs will be considered for inclusion in the charts of both the UK and Australia.

Blockchain technology with Web3 capabilities is used for digital pressing. It makes it possible to provide evidence of ownership while also awarding musicians, artists, and copyrighters with lifetime income.

In reference to digital pressing, OCC Chief Executive Officer Martin Talbot made the following statement:

“Just as vinyl, 8-track, cassette tapes, CDs, and even MiniDisc, DCC, and DAT have been welcomed into the charts, we will also welcome Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) – and we will be delighted when the first album delivered as an NFT contributes to the chart, with Serenade and Muse leading the way this summer.” Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are digital tokens that can be used to purchase goods and services
In a prior interview, Serenade’s founder, Max Shand, was quoted as saying:

“As a straightforward, standardized, and chart-eligible format, Digital Pressings will be a game changer on the global stage, and we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the support of the visionary teams at Warner Records and the Official Charts Company, who all want to give artists every opportunity to bring creativity and innovation into their campaigns,” said the company. “Digital Pressings will be a game changer on the global stage, and we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without

In order to get the NFTs off the ground, Muse’s record label, Warner Brothers, collaborated with Serenade. Serenade is an eco-friendly non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace that runs on the Polygon blockchain. It gives musical artists the ability to produce new and sustainable cash streams from their work.

“We’re happy to be teaming with Serenade and the OCC on the first chart accredited NFT album format,” said the Vice President, Audience & Strategy of Warner Records UK, Sebastian Simone, in an interview with the Guardian.
