Maxim (MM), a contemporary British artist and founder member of the legendary band The Prodigy, has announced his first solo NFT collection, which will be produced in partnership with the Web3 studio Snowcrash.

The Lepidopterror collection, which consists of 888 still photographs of four different types of armed butterflies, will be presented to the public on Crypto.com on Wednesday, July 27.

In this series, butterflies are reinterpreted as threatening animals, complete with skulls and lethal weaponry.

The four types of butterflies are known as “Citizens,” “Worker Butterflies,” “Warrior Butterflies,” and “Royal Butterflies.” Citizens are the most common type of butterfly.

There will be a total of 738 butterflies, of whom 50 will be Royal Butterflies, 50 will be Warrior Butterflies, and 50 will be Worker Butterflies. The remaining 738 will be Citizens.

As a fascinating component of Maxim’s story, each category is a member of the oldest family of butterflies, known as the Lepidopterrors, and has a specific function to fulfill in Maxim’s plan to protect the enchanted Golden Pollen from the Clown Wasps.

Jesse Dylan, one of the co-founders of Snowcrash, made the following statement about Maxim: “Maxim is an extraordinary musician and fine artist from the fury of the Prodigy to now these incredible weapon-wielding butterflies.”

“Crypto.com is an acknowledged leader in the Web3 space and we are thrilled to collaborate on this.”

Maxim came up with the idea for the Lepidopterror butterflies for the very first time in 2009. He was thinking back to his childhood when he recalled seeing an advertising that depicted a little girl racing across a field of corn while holding a net in her hands and attempting to catch a beautiful butterfly.

His subsequent musings prompted him to equip the butterflies in his artwork with weapons, endowing them with the capacity and fortitude to defend themselves.

The artwork in Maxim’s Lepidopterror collection depicts an insurrection led by butterflies, which was conceived in Maxim’s mind.

Now, Maxim is pushing his notion into the metaverse and developing NFTs, which he sees as the inevitable evolution for his collection. He believes that this will be the future of his collection.

MAXIM expressed his excitement about his impending Lepidopterror NFT Drop. “I previously released NFTs as a collaboration with two other artist friends, but this is my first solo NFT drop and I can’t wait for it to be released. I am thrilled to be working with the Snowcrash team as we have forged a great partnership.”
