Square Enix teams up with Enjin to release Final Fantasy collectibles. The Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary figures are available for pre-order at the store, and the digital collectibles will be available to all in 2023. Square Enix, a game development company, has teamed up with Enjin to release a digital and physical collection of Final Fantasy VII, a popular video game series. Enjin stated in the announcement that in order to obtain the NFT, fans must pre-order the Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary product from the Square Enix Store. The products will include a code for the digital collectible counterpart, which will be redeemable in 2023 on the NFT platform Efinity.

According to Enjin CTO, Witek Radomski, the partnership will have a significant impact on the digital assets and entertainment industries, in part because Square Enix is paving the way for other gaming companies. The gaming behemoth revealed plans to issue tokens and invest in the Web3 gaming space. As part of its 2022 business strategy, the company stated that it will launch more NFTs featuring the games, so the success of the venture into NFTs pushed the company to pursue even more initiatives in the blockchain space.

In 2020, the game development company led an investment round for the Sandbox, and with the help of Square Enix and other investors, the Sandbox was able to raise $2 million in cash as well as cryptocurrency. According to the chief technology officer of Enjin, once the bear market subsides and blockchain gaming emerges, more developers will create enjoyable games using NFT utilities. Meanwhile, experts disagree on the role of virtual reality in the Metaverse; while most believe that the Metaverse and VR are a natural fit, others believe that the two should develop independently.

Square Enix, as previously reported, plans to issue tokens and invest more in Web3 gaming
